Pokopia Red Crystal Fragments: what they are and where they dropped
Red Crystal Fragments were the currency for Sableye's Gem Hunt, a 16-day event that ran April 29 to May 14, 2026. You can no longer farm new fragments. This page explains what they were, where they dropped, how red crystals differ from blue crystals, and what you can still do now.
What Red Crystal Fragments are
Red Crystal Fragments were a limited event currency. During Sableye's Gem Hunt you traded them at the Pokemon Center for ten event items, including the three Treasure-hunting Set pieces that build Sableye's habitat. The full reward set cost 64 fragments, and each Red Crystal Cluster you broke gave 4 fragments. Sableye stays in your town permanently once you completed the habitat, so the goal was always the items, not the currency itself.
Can you still get them now?
No. The shop closed on May 14, 2026 and new fragments no longer drop. If you missed rewards, do this instead:
- Check Sableye first. If Sableye already lives in your town, you finished the habitat and only cosmetic decorations remain.
- Use the 3D Printer. Photograph any missing event furniture on a friend's island, then print a copy at home.
- List what you missed. The Red Crystal Calculator ticks off what you bought and flags gaps for printer recovery or a possible rerun.
Where Red Crystal Fragments dropped
Fragments only appeared inside underground caves on Dream Islands, never on your main island or Cloud Islands. You broke Red Crystal Clusters with Rock Smash for 4 fragments each. Cave density set the per-visit yield, so the islands below are ranked by reported fragments per visit.

Red vs blue crystals
Red Crystal Fragments were event-only. Blue crystals are an ordinary Dream Island resource that you can still gather after the event, mostly on Volcanic Dream Island, which carried both red and blue veins. If you are searching for "Pokopia crystals" outside the event, blue crystals are what is still farmable today.
