FAQ
Player questions, answered
Is Sableye's Gem Hunt still active?
No. It ended May 14, 2026 at 4:59 AM local time. Sableye stays in your town, and limited items can be remade with the 3D Printer if you can photograph a friend's copy.
How many Red Crystal Fragments do I need in total?
64 fragments cover every reward in Sableye's shop. The Sableye habitat alone (Adventure Kit + Map and Compass + Treasure) costs 25 fragments.
Where do Red Crystal Fragments drop?
Only inside underground caves on Dream Islands. They never appear on your main island or on multiplayer Cloud Islands. Each Crystal Cluster gives 4 fragments when broken with Rock Smash.
Which Dream Island gives the most fragments?
Rock Peak Dream Island (Clefairy Doll) and Volcanic Dream Island (Arcanine Doll) both have many caves. Community runs report 20 to 76 fragments per visit, with Volcanic also dropping the existing blue crystals.
Is it safe to time-travel to grind faster?
Yes, with one cost: any in-progress Stamp Card resets if you skip across its checkpoint. The event itself, Mystery Gifts and your buildings all carry through.
